This is another for and against composition, but this time it's about SPORTS!

COMPETITIVE SPORT TEACHES US HOW TO SUCCED.

WINNING IS EVERYTHING.

It’s true that some people who practise sports know how to succeed and they also like winning. But is winning everything for us?

On the one hand, many sports are very competitive. Although you believe that you do sport for fun, in my opinion, you always would like to win not to lose. And moreover, (not addition, exceptionality!) in competitive sports where there are two teams which are rivals. There is also the problem of success. If you succeed in your sport, you’ll earn more money in the case that you have a wage, as most of the people who do sport don’t win anything. It’s clear that to be successful you must be better than the others but it doesn’t mean that you have to win all the matches. Perhaps your team is not as good as you had expected, so you always lose, but if you trained a lot and you could succeed for your own.

On the other hand, you can keep up playing the sport you enjoy the best even though you usually lose because winning isn’t everything. There are happiness, effort, concentration, motivation, sociability, which are more important than winning. It’s great for you to be a little bit competitive but never being out of control, despite making lots of mistakes, being the worst and starting to feel furious. When you feel like this, you must tell it to your trainer and he will change you for another player who will be usually more relaxing.

Although many people think that winning is very important, it’s not everything in sports. To sum up, I think that there are too many competitive sports which make you feel furious when you lose but they are also enjoyable and funny. So they don’t teach you how to succeed or how to win.

1 - US SCHOOL ACCUSED OF WEB SPYING (BBC NEWS)

The Lower Merion School District was judged in a trial by a couple from Pennsylvania because the high school gave to their students a laptop and they were carefully photographed with web cams.

Moreover, the images were compromised as they were from all the student’s family in embarrassing positions. But, on the other hand, Christopher McGinley, the School’ Superintendent, said that the camera was activated only if/ as long as a laptop was reported lost, stolen or missing.

Currently, the security-tracking program was deactivated and all the students could work with their own laptops.

2 – CHERLY COLE AND ASHLEY COLE’S HOME TRAGETED BY BURGLARS (EXPRESS DIARY)

Yesterday night, the mansion that Cherly shared with her husband Ashley was fast robbed by some thieves.

This event took place in Showbiz and the thieves were not caught; they left the house when de police arrived. What’s more, it was not clear whether anything had been stolen.

Now Ashley is at home, and also his mother who lives at the mansion but fortunately, was not at home on the burglary.

PEP GUARDIOLA! :D

This is a description of a celebrity. First I would like to do Puyol because he is my idol, but then I decided to do Pep Guardiola as I thought that I know more things about him.

PEP GUARDOILA!

I think that if I could meet anyone in the world, I would like to meet Pep Guardiola. On the one hand, because he is the trainer of Futbol Club Barcelona, and he had changed the team a lot, with him we won the Leage, “La Copa” and the Champions, too. On the other hand, I know Joan Boix, and he tell me that Pep is a good person and he is interested in literature, poetry, famous people who lived in the past, etc. So Pep, apart from being the best manager in the world, he is also a cultured person.
Many celebrities are vain and big headed but, in my opinion, Pep is very modest, polite as well as pleasant. What’s more, in the interviews Pep is very concrete and he never says anything bad about his team. Besides, sometimes he blames himself for the defeat. Physically, he is tall and very kind. He is a little bit bald with black hair and he has got brown eyes. Besides, he has got black stubble and a moustache as well. For me Pep is not very handsome because he’s old, but he usually goes well dressed, with his suits and he looks very fashionable. I like him very much.
If one day I’ve the chance to meet Pep Guardiola, I’ll ask him about how he produced this change to the victory of my favourite team and which is the secret of it. In addition, I will ask him for his autograph too!

FORMAL LETTER!

Now, here I've an example of a FORMAL letter. This composition isn't good at all because the address is wrong and also we know the name of the person, but it's only an example as I said! :D

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to complain about my new digital clock radio, which I bought when I saw the advertisement in front of your shop. After three days it can only receive two radio stations, I ca not switch off the light and also the alarm clock does not work.
Firstly, I returned to the shop with the digital clock and the receipt, of course, but the shop assistant told me that she could not do anything to replace it because there were not more clocks in the shop. So I told her that I WOULD wait for another one but I needed a digital clock during my wait. She was so rude and unfriendly to me and she did not give me another one. Although she showed me some more expensive objects than my digital clock radio but I did not buy anyone because it was irrational.
So secondly, I said to her that if it was not possible to have a replace,(v) I wanted to have a full refund. And she told me that I have to tell this to his boss. Unfortunately he was not in the shop yesterday, so I decided to write this letter to him. It would be grateful if you could let me have a refund, and I insist that it would be better to have a replace.
I hope you will be able to offer some explanation for this and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

WRITING ABOUT TV: TV IS BAD!

I forgot to upload my compositions! So now I'm going to upload all here.. Fisrt this one: it's a for and againts essay about television.


WRITING ABOUT TV: TV IS BAD!

It’s true that TV is bad for us and I agree that the world would be a better place without it because I believe that we’ll probably have a better social life and more friends than now.
Some people approve of TV because they say that it’s entertaining, educational… But it depends on the type of programme you watch, However/ Yet/ Nevertheless, I think that many programmes have a bad and negative influence at people because sometimes young people want to imitate them in the real life and they can hurt themselves. For example the “Smack Down” and the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) where people fight with different attacks. So TV can entertain people but if we haven’t got any TV’s in the world, I think we probably will meet more --- our friends and we will have a better social life because we will go out more. Then, staying at home during many hours in front of the TV, watching different programmes, it’s bad for everyone. But it depends on the programme you’re watching, and personally, I think you can become mad if you watch programmes that make you laugh AT someone.
However, the only programmes WHICH are positive for people, there are the news, documentaries, and some films like Titanic, Mar Adentro… or something like that. In the other hand, many people who can’t move, if they haven’t got TV at home, they’ll feel alone and sad, so for them it’s clear that TV is a very useful invention. And for “normal” people who like being the centre of attention, they can participate in many programmes and have fun together.
In conclusion, if TV doesn’t exist we can have more relationships with other people and it’ll be like years ago when people went out and entertained themselves with board games, for example.
