Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to complain about my new digital clock radio, which I bought when I saw the advertisement in front of your shop. After three days it can only receive two radio stations, I ca not switch off the light and also the alarm clock does not work.
Firstly, I returned to the shop with the digital clock and the receipt, of course, but the shop assistant told me that she could not do anything to replace it because there were not more clocks in the shop. So I told her that I WOULD wait for another one but I needed a digital clock during my wait. She was so rude and unfriendly to me and she did not give me another one. Although she showed me some more expensive objects than my digital clock radio but I did not buy anyone because it was irrational.
So secondly, I said to her that if it was not possible to have a replace,(v) I wanted to have a full refund. And she told me that I have to tell this to his boss. Unfortunately he was not in the shop yesterday, so I decided to write this letter to him. It would be grateful if you could let me have a refund, and I insist that it would be better to have a replace.
I hope you will be able to offer some explanation for this and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Paula Vilanova

WRITING ABOUT TV: TV IS BAD!
WRITING ABOUT TV: TV IS BAD!
It’s true that TV is bad for us and I agree that the world would be a better place without it because I believe that we’ll probably have a better social life and more friends than now.
Some people approve of TV because they say that it’s entertaining, educational… But it depends on the type of programme you watch, However/ Yet/ Nevertheless, I think that many programmes have a bad and negative influence at people because sometimes young people want to imitate them in the real life and they can hurt themselves. For example the “Smack Down” and the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) where people fight with different attacks. So TV can entertain people but if we haven’t got any TV’s in the world, I think we probably will meet more --- our friends and we will have a better social life because we will go out more. Then, staying at home during many hours in front of the TV, watching different programmes, it’s bad for everyone. But it depends on the programme you’re watching, and personally, I think you can become mad if you watch programmes that make you laugh AT someone.
However, the only programmes WHICH are positive for people, there are the news, documentaries, and some films like Titanic, Mar Adentro… or something like that. In the other hand, many people who can’t move, if they haven’t got TV at home, they’ll feel alone and sad, so for them it’s clear that TV is a very useful invention. And for “normal” people who like being the centre of attention, they can participate in many programmes and have fun together.
In conclusion, if TV doesn’t exist we can have more relationships with other people and it’ll be like years ago when people went out and entertained themselves with board games, for example.

Description of a place
I've made a composition about a description of a place, concretely about Canterbury:
MY BEST TRIP TO CANTERBURY!
Last summer, I went to Canterbury in London with my cousin, Patricia. I was there for three weeks, from the second week of July to the first of August. Canterbury is a village near Kent and it is a historical city because of its cathedral, Leeds Castle, churches, etc. I think that it’s very beautiful, thestreets are narrower than in Olot but there is the main street, which has got lots of shops, stalls, and a big market where you can find whatever you want. The main difference is that Olot is larger thanCanterbury, because Canterbury has much history but it’s very small.
The weather in Canterbury was great! It often rained but not very much because it almost always was sunny. And you could always wear a T-shirt and a jumper! I love wearing jumpers so the weather in Canterbury was fantastic for me.
However, the food was very bad! We ate in our school or residence with other people, of course, and every day we had to go to Canterbury to buy more food because we were so hungry. When we first arrived at the residence, it was time to have lunch but we had had to tidy up our rooms before had lunch. So we were pretty angry the first day.
Every day in the morning we did English lessons during five hours after we’d had breakfast. In the afternoon we were surprised by different activities and you could choose one of them. Some times the director was rude to us because he thought that we were there only for fun and not for learning English.
The other days we also visited Leeds Castle, Greenwich, London, etc. The clothes in these cities were rather cheaper than in Olot, so I’ve bought lots of things for me and also for my family and friends.
The thing I liked least about Canterbury was definitely the food! But I loved the pizzas you could eat in a curious stall on the main street. The best thing is that I’ve made lots of friend from Madrid, Italy and also Barcelona. We’ve promised that one day we’ll all get together in Madrid! It will be fantastic!
I hope next year I’ll go to England for perhaps one month or more!

I think traveling is amazing! I like it very much, and I hope that in the future I'll travel around the world!
kisssssses! ;)

INFORMAL LETTER
Sant Feliu de Pallerols
Girona
1st October 2009
Dear Philip,
I’m having a great time at the moment! Because tomorrow it’s my 16th birthday and I’m going to celebrate it at home. And all the people I’ve invited will come! That’s fantastic!
Every year, on my birthday, we put up decorations and we dress up in fashionable clothes. People always arrive at 9 o’clock in the evening and then we have a special dinner: we eat soup and chicken because they are my favourite food! Later, my old brother surprises us with a little bit of magic but I think this year will be different because my mum has bought a secret thing and I don’t know what it is! The true is that I’m a little bit nervous...
At night, there is more fun. All the people who I’ve invited are interested in going to the University so I’ve done some papers with names of universities and also the name of one person (boy or girl) that they have to kiss! I’ll take some photographs and I’ll show you what happens…
The only problem of tomorrow is that I’ve to look after my young brother… But I hope that he won’t be any hindrance. What do you think?
¡Oh Philip! I’m very sorry because you can’t come! But don’t worry, I’ll celebrate more birthdays and you’ll be invited at all!
See you soon my friend!
Lots of kisses!
Paula.

"THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY"
The picture of Dorian Gray is about a painter (Basil) who paints the most beautiful picture he'd painted in his life. This portrait is about Dorin Gray, he is very beautifull, and he's plenty of youth, and Basil said that he'd put too of himself into it. Dorian wished that he could always stay young and the picture could grow old. It wished that because he was influenced by Lord Henry, Harry for friends, a friend of Basil who became also friend of Dorian and he was a bad influence for him. The wish became true and finally Dorian couldn't suppot that pressure and he...
If you like the book read it and you will know the end!! ;)
It's a great book, I like it very much. I think it0s a book for adults and also teenagers, no younger than I. It talks about the youth and how important it can be, but finally it's a completely disaster because you can't support the pressure of having a portrait that becomes older and uglier and if you can, you're really the worts person I've ver known!
Finally the sentence which I like the most:
"When we are happy, we are allways good, but when we are good we are not always happy" said Lord Henry.

S I M P L E P L A N ! !
Precisely I said this:
"Because it’s a very famous group which everybody knows, the members of the group are fantastic and also the music is brilliant. The songs have their own feeling. And finally we choose them because if you go to their concerts you can see that they play music because they really like it."
"They realised their first album in 2002 called No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls. The record was originally released in the United States with twelve songs and the record also contained vocals from singers from two other pop-punk bands like Good Charlotte and Blink 182."
"Simple Plan is a really amazing band and they’ve made music for all social problems that happened in everyone’s lives, for example, their songs transmit your heart break, a loosing family, your fear, problems of world, etc. Those songs help you to understand your life.
When we started this project we didn’t know anything about their life, we only know their songs which are very popular.
Now we’re going to listen a song of they called “Save you” that talks about cancer."
I said this part of the presentation and my friends said the others. I think that we do a good oral presentation, and we also had a power point with photos and some text.
Here I put some photos about simple plan:

MY TOWN!
Our teacher gave us some work: comparing
I think that Olot is a normal city with some traffic and also lot of cars. But if you compare it with NY, the last is the largest and it has got more cars than Olot of course, because it has got eight and a half million people living there and each one has a car. Olot has only got thirty two million habitants, so it is smaller than
But in Olot there’s beautiful landscape with lot of forests, houses and some high buildings, just the opposite to
I went to
If you buy things in
The true is that I live in Sant Feliu de Pallerols, one village near Olot and I can confirm that Sant Feliu is the cleanest and quietest city.
Farewell ! !
